A former member of the Chicago Police Department, Juan built the foundation for the security and service techniques Monterrey Security staff employ every day. He has built the company around an operating philosophy of protection, prevention and service, believing that the best protection comes through prevention.

He has also taken steps to ensure that foundation includes a strong focus on guest services, as that can not only provide for a better customer experience, but also enhance the security environment.

Under Juan’s leadership, Monterrey Security has received numerous awards, including Hispanic Business Magazine’s list of 100 Fastest Growing Companies in the U.S., and has earned the trust of operators of National Football League, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer and NCAA stadiums and arenas, as well as dozens of cultural institutions, music festivals, small businesses and banks.

Today, Juan leads the company’s board of directors and also all of the company’s civic and philanthropic efforts. He is a member of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic American Construction Industry Association and the International Association of Assembly Managers.

Responsible for Monterrey’s operations and strategic growth, Dan has earned a national reputation for his leadership in the security industry.

Throughout his 20 years with our company, he has led security operations for some of the nation’s most iconic public facilities and events, while also being instrumental in building systems to strengthen our nationally recognized 24-hour security operations, policies and training.

Among the events where Dan has developed and implemented security plans are the NATO Summit, Lollapalooza, the Chicago Marathon, NFL Draft, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks championship rally, as well as the Rolling Stones and Taylor Swift concerts. 

Dan also oversees Monterrey’s community partnerships, as well as our contract fulfillment and compliance requirements.

He is a member of ASIS International, the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4), the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) and the Illinois Security Professionals Association. He earned certification from NCS4 as a Certified Sports Security Professional, as well as a multitude of certifications through the Department of Homeland Security, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Responsible for managing daily operations and customer support services, Mike is a key leader at Monterrey. Part of our company since 2003, he oversees all corporate operations, including customer support services, partnership development, legal services, risk management and accreditation. He serves as a key point of contact for numerous partners, addressing any issues that arise, and also oversees the development of presentations for new partners. With a background in event services, he collaborates with our experienced team of law enforcement executives, customer service professionals and public safety experts to help our partners make informed decisions about their programs and future plans.

Previously, Michael served as Director of Event Services where he was responsible for all event operations at Monterrey Security partner venues.

A magna cum laude graduate of St. Xavier University in Chicago, he compliments his experience with continuous training through the world-renowned Disney Institute, the International Assembly of Venue Managers’ Academy and the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security.

Lindsay began her career with Monterrey in Event Services, where she learned the operations side of our business. Her passion for training and retaining staff helped her develop a unique talent of identifying and placing employees in positions where they would thrive, creating optimal success for the event, guests and the employee.

As Vice President of Human Resources, she is responsible for overseeing the administrative teams that recruit and hire our staff, as well as compliance with state and federal regulations, and employee relations.She also works closely with the numerous community organizations we rely on to connect us with candidates to build careers with Monterrey. She also leads mentorship programs and provides resources for those in historically underserved communities who are looking for opportunities, helping them become certified to begin their careers.

Lindsay compliments her experience with continuous HR, guest services and event planning training with numerous organizations. She graduated with honors with from the University of Illinois, earning a degree in Recreation, Sport and Tourism.

As Vice President of Compliance and Security Strategies, Hiram is responsible for leading Monterrey Security’s on-site strategies and collaborating with local law enforcement leaders to ensure security approaches are fully integrated and compliant.

Hiram spent three decades in law enforcement, including as Director of the Illinois State Police and Deputy Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department. He has led security and compliance strategies for Monterrey Security since 2017.

A decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, he spent much of his law enforcement career working in commanding gang investigation units  and also worked as deputy chief of investigations for the Cook County State’s Attorney. He has received hundreds of special commendations and recognition awards, including 12 Department Commendations and more than 100 Honorable Mentions.

Hiram is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Executive Development Programs at the City of Chicago and University of Illinois. He is involved in numerous civic organizations and has served as President of the St. Jude Police League.

Responsible for quality control and oversight of all 24-hour security operations, Dan implements security standards and policies for more than 30 client groups and more than 125 facilities across the Midwest.From contract fulfillment to training, client relationships to risk assessments, he is responsible for managing vital aspects of our operations. He is also active in our community outreach and recruiting efforts, working with neighborhood groups and community leaders to identify candidates who meet our strict hiring standards.

He has completed several training sessions through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including programs focusing on incident command systems, surveillance detection and active shooter responses.

He spent 34 years with the Chicago Police Department, retiring in 2020 as First Deputy Superintendent. There, he oversaw daily operations for the patrol, detective and counterterrorism units, as well as major events and incidents. Throughout his career, he developed strategies that led to violent crime reduction, while also enhancing partnerships with community and law enforcement leaders.

A graduate of Northeastern Illinois University, Tony also served as bureau chief and deputy chief during his career. He has led several community initiatives, including as board member of the Safer Foundation, Chicago/Cook County Heroin Task Force and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Agency, among others.

From working as a front-line security officer to directing security at national events, Matt brings proven hands-on experience to his leadership role. He understands the importance of providing professional public safety, while also delivering high-quality customer service.

He is responsible for developing security plans and overseeing all services at our events, including management and oversight of our venue employees.

Matt has previously overseen day-to-day operations for NFL and MLS games at Soldier Field, served as Security Manager at the NFL Draft and managed security at events like the Chicago Marathon and Lollapalooza.

Since retiring from the Chicago Police Department in 2018, he has led several compliance initiatives for Monterrey Security, ensuring all initiatives, staffing and training exceed requirements set by each state where the company operates.

Throughout his 35-year law enforcement career, he led work in the CPD Auditing & Internal Control Division and in the department’s Personnel Division. He also served as 1st District Commander and Executive Officer for the 15th District and Bureau of Detectives, among other roles.

A graduate of Lewis University and the City of Chicago Executive Development Program, he is active with the 100 Club of Chicago and the Police Benevolent & Protective Association of Illinois.

JeQuan is responsible for managing the foundation needed for strong security operations. As Director of Operations, he is focused on leading all scheduling, budgeting, compliance and client relations, ensuring the teams at each of our facilities exceed client expectations.

He also works closely with event production teams to proactively identify the support needed for success, including coordination of communications, staffing, production and onboarding of new employees.

JeQuan has worked in management since he was 17, leading operations and staffing in the service industry and being trusted to open new facilities across the country. He began working for Monterrey as a field supervisor nearly a decade ago, before earning promotions to project coordinator and project manager before assuming his current role. 

A South Side native, JeQuan grew up in a law enforcement family and saw firsthand the value in serving others. He now takes pride in mentoring staff and identifying opportunities to help them grow in their careers.

With over 16 years of experience in the contract security industry, Katrina is a dedicated Director of Safety and Training who builds high-performance teams through comprehensive, regulation-compliant training programs. She develops and implements training strategies based on client contractual requirements, state regulations, and federal mandates.

Known for a hands-on, high-quality approach in all that she does, she prepares our security professionals to operate with confidence, professionalism and readiness in dynamic environments. 

She has earned a broad range of certifications across safety, emergency response, tactical training, and use-of-force disciplines, including certifications from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

She is also certified in best practices for emergency response and personal protection tactics, as well as management of aggressive behavior. She holds credentials as a certified instructor for first aid, taser, tactical weapons, hazardous materials handling and firearms use.

Kyle is a recognized leader in strategic planning and operations management in the security industry. He has managed on-site operations for some of the country’s largest events at iconic facilities, including Soldier Field and Notre Dame Stadium.

As Director of Event Services, he develops plans to ensure security staffing and operations exceed league and stadium guidelines. That includes work with the Chicago Bears to reach NFL Best Practices, the Chicago Fire on MLS Safety and Security Guidelines, adhering to WNBA arena security standards for the Chicago Sky, as well as college basketball security guidelines for DePaul University and the University of Notre Dame. He also leads operational coordination with concert promoters including Live Nation and AEG Live, among others.

A Chicago native and graduate of Harold Washington College who has earned numerous industry certifications, he has worked with Monterrey for more than a decade, including five years as event services manager at Notre Dame, serving Notre Dame Stadium, the Joyce Center and Compton Family Ice Arena, as well as Chicago’s Wintrust Arena and Arie Crown Theater. He has also worked as a site supervisor at the University of Illinois Chicago and at Soldier Field.
